Security and Protection Fair
Between October 5th and 7th, Kidde will present technologies in fire detection systems during the International Fair of Safety and Protection (FISP) at SP Expo, from 1 PM to 9 PM. According to Federal Government data, an average of 200,000 fires occur per year in Brazil. That is more than 500 per day.
Did you know that smoke is the leading cause of death in a fire? According to the Brazilian Society of Pulmonology, 77% of these deaths are caused by smoke inhalation. Often, the maximum time to evacuate a home during a fire can be as little as three minutes.
For more information, photos, or interviews, we are at your disposal. It will be a pleasure to welcome you to our booth.

Kidde presents technology in fire detection systems during FISP
São Paulo, October 5, 2016 – Between October 5 and 7, Kidde – one of the largest and most respected fire protection companies in the world – is participating in the International Security and Protection Fair (FISP) at São Paulo Expo, presenting innovative and technological solutions for residential, data center, automotive, industrial, civil construction, and petrochemical sectors.
One of the highlights will be the TRIO ABC extinguisher (pictured on the side), which fights incipient fires of the three main fire classes A, B, and C in a single product. Weighing only 3.2 kg, it features a compact design, easy handling, and a competitive price. It has arrived to gain space, safety, and modernity.
One of the objectives is to bring greater safety to the user, eliminating the risk of a class A extinguisher being accidentally used for a class C fire, which can result in electric shock with serious injuries to the user. The ABC TRIO reduces the time to fight a incipient fire because the operator does not need to choose the type of extinguisher to be used. It is more economical, easy to operate, weighing only 3.2 kg, and has a one-year warranty. Indicated for commercial and residential buildings.
Currently, most protection projects involving fire extinguishers provide for the use of two extinguishers: one specifically to combat class A fires and another for classes B and C. Projects with these characteristics, despite meeting the standards, can leave doubt when choosing the extinguisher to be used. In addition, the water-based extinguisher has an average total weight of 14 kg, which can hinder the operator's action.
The TRIO ABC extinguisher has arrived to innovate the market, with an extinguishing capacity (2-A: 20B:C) equivalent to conventional designs (see figure below), about 17kg lighter, and still at the same cost level as conventional designs.
Two in one
In addition to the ABC Trio, Kidde is presenting its residential line of smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors at the fair. Fire produces various types of toxic gases; however, carbon monoxide (CO) is the most common. This gas is odorless, tasteless, and highly toxic, and can lead to death. Carbon monoxide can also be found at home through means other than fire. It is present every time you light a gas oven, a grill, a gas water heater, a fireplace, and oil heaters. Poisoning can occur from a small amount of CO over a long period of exposure or from a large amount of CO over a short period of exposure.
The wireless residential detector is easy to install and uses a special battery with a 10-year lifespan, thus preventing the user from having to replace the battery during this period, ensuring reliable long-term detection.
