Largest occupational health and safety event in Latin America opened this Wednesday in São Paulo


With free admission for industry professionals, the International Security and Protection Fair takes place until Friday, October 7, from 1 PM to 9 PM, at São Paulo Expo

The FISP | International Fair of Safety and Protection, the largest occupational health and safety event in Latin America, opened this Wednesday, October 5, 2016, in an atmosphere of optimism with expectations of a recovery in the Brazilian economy.

In its 21st edition, the trade show is consolidating itself as a platform for innovations and launches for the sector, bringing solutions and technologies aimed at the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases.

At the opening ceremony, authorities, association representatives, and business leaders gathered together. Graziano Messana, Managing Director of Cipa Fiera Milano, emphasized the Group's honor in organizing an event of such relevance to the sector and the importance of strengthening partnerships during these three days of the trade fair.

Rimantas Sipas, Commercial Director of Cipa Fiera Milano, highlighted the diversity of launches and products that will be presented and the major investment made by exhibitors in this edition. “Exhibitors truly invested in the event and the booths to present the best to visitors, who are the true essence of FISP. See launches, learn about new technologies, and implement safety and prevention programs in companies and daily life. With prevention, there are no accidents,” stated the executive, highlighting the schedule of free courses and lectures at the trade show, which promotes knowledge through the exchange of information and professional updating. Rimantas also thanked the support and partnership of the associations ABRASEG, ANIMASEG, and SINDISEG, which produce the fair, organized by Cipa Fiera Milano.

Also present, João Fábio Giória, president of ANIMASEG – National Association of the Work Safety and Protection Equipment Industry, highlighted FISP's recognition on the global stage, consolidated as the second largest safety trade fair in the world.

The president of ABRASEG – Brazilian Association of Distributors and Importers of Occupational Safety and Protection Equipment and Products, Jacques Lesser Levy, emphasized that, despite the current economic situation, it is necessary to strengthen the sector, and proof of this is the grandeur of the event. The statement was reinforced by Waldyr Perez, executive director of SINDISEG – Union of the Safety Material Industry, representing the union's president, Christian Steyer. “The trade show is a catalyst for this new moment in Brazil. We are starting over and we hope the market will recover ever stronger. We count on all safety professionals.”.

Representing the Minister of Labor, Ronaldo Nogueira, the Regional Superintendent of Labor and Employment in the State of São Paulo, Eduardo Anastasi, committed to receiving a letter of intent at the end of the event, containing suggestions and improvements for the occupational health and prevention sector.

On the occasion, the 12th edition of FIRE SHOW | International Fire Fair was also inaugurated, one of the country's leading events focused exclusively on the fire prevention and firefighting segment. The fair takes place concurrently with FISP with the objective of strengthening business synergy for visitors and exhibitors.

Nércio de Souza Filho, president of ABIEX – Brazilian Association of Fire Fighting Equipment and High-Pressure Cylinder Industries, highlighted the products on display at the event, which are technologies available worldwide.

Among the business leaders and association representatives were also present Amarildo de Miranda and Robson Spinelli Gomes, respectively president and technical director of Fundacentro, an entity linked to the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare for the promotion of worker health and safety; Armando Henrique, president of FENATEST – National Federation of Occupational Safety Technicians; Raul Casanova – executive director of ANIMASEG; Paulo Griebeler, president of IBTeC – Brazilian Institute of Leather, Footwear and Artifact Technology; and Edoardo Pollastri – President of ITALCAM, who highlighted the 114-year presence of the Chamber in the country.

“This is one of the most anticipated events for those who work in safety and security. It represents a unique opportunity for us to learn about new products and technologies and to acquire knowledge,” concluded Colonel Rogério Bernardes Duarte, commander of the Military Police Fire Department of the State of São Paulo.

News from 700 exhibitors

The FISP | International Trade Fair for Safety and Protection brings solutions focused on the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases over three days of events. In addition to the products on display, it promotes professional qualification and training through a broad schedule of lectures and courses by experts from various fields. At the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Professional Qualification Show, the goal is the dissemination of a preventive culture. The TECHSHOW features a free schedule of lectures given by exhibitors, promoting the exchange of information and technologies.

In parallel with FISP, the 12th edition of FIRE SHOW | International Fire Fair is taking place, bringing the latest technologies to the fire prevention and firefighting market. As a content-driven event, the fair features COBENI – the Brazilian Congress of Fire Engineering, with the central theme “Fire protection engineering in the pursuit of professional qualification and training.” The 2016 edition of COBENI aims to add knowledge about standardization, certification, systems, products, and services, on October 5th and 6th.

The FIRE SHOW is organized by Cipa Fiera Milano and produced by ABIEX. Together, the events will bring together 700 exhibitors in a 42,000-square-meter area, with the expectation of attracting 50,000 industry professionals.
