The events, which take place between the 18th and 20th of this month at São Paulo Expo, are expected to receive 50,000 qualified visitors
São Paulo, October 2022 – In a country where workplace safety statistics remain alarming, new technologies help not only to reduce economic impacts but also to save lives. In 2021 alone, 571,800 work-related accidents and 2,487 work-related deaths were reported, representing a 30% increase compared to 2020. The survey was conducted by the Observatory on Occupational Safety and Health, developed and maintained by the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT) in cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO) as part of the SmartLab Decent Work Initiative.
Given this scenario, the realization of FISP – 23rd International Safety and Protection Fair and the 13th Fire Show – International Fire Fair, gain even more relevance. The events take place between the 18th and 20th of this month at São Paulo Expo.
For three days, industry companies and experts will present the main technological innovations and discuss solutions to improve security across all segments of society. Fisp is organized by Animaseg, Abraseg e Sindiseg, and the Fire Show by Abiex, and both are organized and promoted by Fiera Milano Brasil.
For Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, there is an immense business opportunity for the sector given the possibility of new contacts with buyers from various countries who will visit the trade fairs. “In addition, there will be plenty of content with the presence of internationally recognized experts, who will discuss technological solutions to enhance occupational safety and protection.”.
The two events will bring together, within a 42,000 m² space, around 700 exhibiting brands that will showcase the most modern solutions in the fields of occupational safety and protection, as well as rescue and fire protection. The expectation is to welcome about 50,000 visitors, including nursing professionals, occupational physicians, psychologists, speech therapists, occupational safety engineers and technicians, risk inspectors, asset security personnel, internal accident prevention committee (CIPEA) members, firefighters, managers, directors, buyers, and other professionals in the sector.
According to the Observatory on Occupational Safety and Health, between 2012 and 2021, 6.2 million Work-Related Accident Reports (CATs) were filed in the country, and the INSS granted 2.5 million social security benefits related to accidents, including sick leave benefits, disability pensions, survivor pensions, and accident benefits. During the same period, social security spending exceeded R$ 120 billion on accident-related expenses alone.
Present and future under debate
During the three days of Fisp, Animaseg – National Association of the Work Safety and Protection Equipment Industry, together with Abraseg, an entity representing distributors and importers of work safety and protection equipment in Brazil, will offer visitors the ABNT CB-32 Auditorium, where the formulation of Brazilian Standards for the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) segment and the periodic revisions necessary to adapt them to the reality of the Brazilian market will be discussed.
Sindiseg – the Union of the Safety Equipment Industry – also intends to gather the largest possible number of presidents of employer unions during the event, providing an opportunity to establish closer exchanges as well as technological updates in the PPE sector for everyone.
As for him Safe Environments Symposium, organized by the magazines Industrial Environment, edited by the BMComm Group, and CIPA & Fire, published by Fiera Milano Brasil, will be aimed at managers and other professionals responsible for environmental management and occupational health and safety in organizations. The event will place special emphasis on the latest industry developments, the synergies between Environment and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and their relationships with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) efforts and commitments undertaken by organizations.
National Firefighter Seminar
In this edition of Fire Show, there will be the 20th Senabom – National Firefighter Seminar. This is the third time the capital of São Paulo is hosting the seminar, an event that annually gathers corporations from all over Brazil and abroad. Workshops, lectures, the Most Resistant Firefighter Competition, the national stage of Vehicular Rescue, a meeting of the Commanders of the 27 Brazilian states, and the National Council of Military Fire Departments of Brazil (LIGABOM) will be held.
Business Rounds with official representatives from all corporations are also scheduled, in addition to a guided tour of the Senabom booths by the general commanders, when suppliers will be able to present their new products and services directly to them. Sponsors and suppliers will also participate in two dinners with the Fire Department leadership.
This edition of Senabom will also feature scientific paper presentations, short courses, and technical competitions aimed at professionals in the sector such as military firefighters, police officers, members of the armed forces, civil and community firefighters, civil defense agents, and students, among other professionals.
