October 6, 2014 \u2013 One of the world's three largest trade shows in the Occupational Safety sector already has a confirmed date and opens its doors in S\u00e3o Paulo from October 8 to 10.
\nThe 20th FISP \u2013 International Fair of Safety and Protection at Work \u2013 takes place at the Imigrantes Exhibition Center with an expected audience of over 50 thousand people. There will be 45 thousand square meters with more than 700 exhibiting companies from around the world that will present the most modern in the occupational accident prevention segment.
\nAccording to the Ministry of Social Security\u2019s latest survey, released in January 2014, 705,239 workplace accidents were recorded in the country, a decrease of just 2% from the previous year\u2019s figure of 720,629.
\nConsidered high-risk, work at heights accounts for 40% of all accidents in the country, according to data from the MTE (Ministry of Labor and Employment). In the construction industry, this figure rises to 49%.
\nSolutions that minimize the risk of falls and protect workers in the event of accidents are numerous and receive special prominence at FISP. The company Capital Safety brings to the event a broad portfolio of products from its DBI-SALA and Altiseg brands and innovations in fall protection that promise to catch everyone's attention.
\nAnother attraction from Capital Safety at the trade fair will be a demonstration vehicle equipped with a meter that calculates the impact of a worker's fall. With this, it is possible to predict the consequences of a potential accident. The simulation is performed with different products, and the comparison between them is made on-site by specialists.
\n\u201cWith a normal belt, for example, a worker who suffers an accident may suffer a rupture of their internal organs due to the high impact of the fall. With the use of the energy absorber, the impact is reduced and allows for their survival,\u201d exemplifies Alexandre Nakashato, training manager for the company.
