The events, which take place between October 3 and 5 at São Paulo Expo, are expected to welcome 50,000 industry professionals
São Paulo, October 2018 – In a country where occupational safety still presents alarming statistics, new technologies contribute not only to reducing the economic impacts on Social Security, but also to saving lives. According to calculations by the Ministry of Labor, more than 400,000 workplace accidents occur every year in Brazil, resulting in more than 2,800 deaths. Therefore, the importance of 22nd Fisp – International Fair of Safety and Protection and then 13th Fire Show - International Fire Fair, which begin on Wednesday (3) at 1 PM and continue until Friday (5) at São Paulo Expo.
For three days, companies in the sector and experts will present the main innovations and discuss solutions to improve safety in all segments of society. Fisp is organized by Animaseg, Abraseg, and Sindiseg, and Fire Show by Abiex, with both being organized and promoted by Cipa Fiera Milano.
According to the Digital Observatory of Occupational Health and Safety, maintained by the Public Labor Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with the ILO (International Labour Organization), someone died at work in Brazil every four and a half hours in 2017. And a worker was injured every 38 seconds. Brazil is among the four countries in the world with the highest rate of deaths from workplace accidents, according to ILO data.

Held biennially, the events will bring together within a 42,000-square-meter space around 700 exhibiting companies that will showcase the most modern solutions in occupational safety and protection, as well as in rescue and fire protection. Together, the two events are expected to receive around 50,000 visitors, including nursing professionals, occupational physicians, psychologists, speech therapists, occupational safety engineers and technicians, risk inspectors, corporate security personnel, safety committee (CIPA) members, firefighters, managers, directors, buyers, and other professionals in the sector.
