The venue will bring together experts from across the country to discuss the importance of society's participation in the drafting of NBR – Brazilian Technical Standards.
São Paulo, October 2022 – Over the last two years, Personal Protective Equipment – PPE gained prominence worldwide. But both PPE and Collective Protective Equipment – CPE have been used for a long time, especially in industries and mining companies. And, since 1996, in Brazil, they have relied on a Personal Protective Equipment Committee, ABNT/CB-032, which drafts and revises Brazilian Standards. This work involves professionals from various segments of society.
And it is precisely to discuss the formulation of these standards and the periodic revisions necessary to adapt them to the reality of the Brazilian market, that ABNT / CB-032, which since its creation in 1996 has been supported by Animaseg – National Association of the Safety and Protection Equipment Industry, organized the ABNT/CB-32 auditorium, where it will offer 16 lectures during the FISP 2022 – International Fair of Safety and Protection, which takes place from October 18 to 20 at São Paulo Expo.
Raul Casanova, executive director of Animaseg, points out that ABNT/CB-032 is an ABNT body that currently has 23 CEs, PPE study commissions. It was created at the suggestion of Animaseg, which took on the responsibility of structuring and maintaining it. “Therefore, when the possibility of having an auditorium at FISP arose, we felt it was a good opportunity to increase the visibility and participation of more professionals in the Technical Standards meetings, allowing visitors to learn more about the work of ABNT/CB-032.”
Of the 16 lectures, 15 will be given by members of CB32. “The other speaker is Cirlene Luiza Zimmermann, prosecutor from the MPT – Public Ministry of Labor, who will speak about Safety and Health in Schools: A new culture in accident prevention,” says Casanova.
Also under debate will be the “Quality of PPE for Pesticides; Respiratory Protection: International Standards”; “Reflective materials for personal safety: Standards and Applications”; “The future of PPE Certification for Arc and Fire”; “Working at Heights: The relationship between NRs and NBRs”; “Protective Creams: Use and Legislation”; “Comfortable Footwear: Safety and Performance”; “Eye and Face Protection: Concepts, Protections, and Applications”; “Firefighter PPE Laundering and Cancer Prevention”; “Standard for Anchorage Devices: Main expected changes”; “Trends, Regulations for Safety Footwear”; “Helmets – Differences in the new Technical Standard and consequences for regulation”; “Hearing Protector certification model in Brazil and in other countries”; “New standard for the implementation of Protection Systems Against Norms – challenges and concepts”; and “Protective Clothing against Moisture and Weather: Tests, Risks, and Applications”.
